Looking to upgrade the steering on your Traxxas Slash or Bandit? In this video, I replace the stock plastic steering assembly with the aluminum Traxxas 3743A bellcrank. The stock plastic piece costs about $4, but for around $20 on Amazon you can upgrade to aluminum with built-in bearings for smoother, more reliable performance.
I’ll walk you step by step through removing the bumper, loosening the chassis, pulling the servo arm, and installing the new bellcrank. Along the way I’ll share a few tips (like not over-tightening into plastic and checking screws after your first run).
After the install, I share some first driving impressions—does it actually make a difference? Plus, my thoughts on the Slash Nitro overall, including why I recommend Badlands or Pro-Line tires for better grip and why I might steer beginners to the Kyosho Inferno if they want an easier nitro start.
If you’re into RC trucks, upgrades, and nitro fun—stick around, because I’ve got more Slash upgrades coming soon.
