Press conference with Governor David Apatang

SAIPAN – Gov. David M. Apatang has signed Executive Order 2025-003, reinforcing the duties of the Commonwealth’s Single Audit Committee.
The committee is made up of the Office of the Public Auditor, the Department of Finance, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Office of Grants Management.
Apatang said the CNMI’s delayed Single Audits threaten federal funding, financial stability, and public trust. The order directs agencies to work together to complete audits on time, strengthen internal controls, and address findings.
He warned that continued delays could lead to future federal grants being withheld.
