Remote Camping in the Heart of Tiger Country

In this episode of Endless Venture, Riley and I, along with our local guide Deepak and our camp crew, head deep into one of the most untouched and remote wilderness areas I’ve ever explored — Nepal’s Babai River Valley. This place is wild in every sense of the word. Massive herds of wild elephants roam freely, crocodiles slip through the rivers, and Bengal tigers rule the jungle.

Our mission was bold: camp in the middle of this wilderness and try to track down a tiger on foot.

That first night, things got real fast. We were jolted awake by the eerie calls of tigers echoing through the forest and alarm calls from chital deer just outside our tents. At first light, we stepped out to find fresh tiger tracks weaving through our camp — the big cat had paid us a visit while we slept.

Wee set out on foot to find the tiger that came so close. What followed was one of the most unforgettable moments of my career — an up-close encounter in the riverbed with a massive male tiger, wild and free, in his element.

This expedition pushed us to the edge and delivered something truly rare — a raw, unfiltered look into a world where humans are guests, and the tiger is king.
