The Kooks are an English pop-rock band formed in 2004 in Brighton. The band features Luke Pritchard (vocals/rhythm guitar), Hugh Harris (lead guitar/synthesizer/bass), and Alexis Nunez (drums). Influenced by the 1960s British Invasion and the post-punk revival, their music spans various genres including rock, Britpop, pop, reggae, ska, funk, and hip-hop. They are often described as a "more energetic Thrills" or a "less severe Arctic Monkeys."

The Kooks signed with Virgin Records three months after forming and gained mainstream success with their debut album "Inside In/Inside Out" (2006), which went quadruple platinum in the UK and achieved platinum status in Australia and Ireland. They won the Best UK & Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2006 and were nominated for a Brit Award for their single "She Moves in Her Own Way."

Their second album, "Konk" (2008), debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and went gold in the UK and Ireland. Subsequent albums include "Junk of the Heart" (2011), "Listen" (2014), and their latest, "10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark" (2022), which peaked at No. 32 on the UK Albums Chart.
