U.S. climber Alex Honnold completed a breathtaking free solo ascent of Taipei 101 on Sunday, January 25, 2026, without ropes or safety equipment.

Thousands of spectators watched in awe as Honnold scaled one of the world’s tallest buildings over an hour and a half, climbing the 508-meter (1,667 feet) skyscraper with precision and calm.
