The album "WAVES" is a Ukrainian progressive modern jazz music by a well known, prolific composer, arranger and pianist Nataliya Lebedeva.
Lyrics for the compositions were created by the soloist of the project, the famous singer and composer Laura Marti.
These songs make a great set together, as they cover a wide range of different kinds of grooves and polyrhythms.
Challenging, inventive mood shifts and the dynamic musical dramaturgy intrigue and create a special atmosphere for the listeners.
The recording session was done by gifted Ukrainian musicians in Germany at the Bauer Studios in September 2022, after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine and supported by Kunstiftung NRW, Freihandelszone, Tapstep, HR Music.
The recording featured Magnus Öström, a prominent Swedish drummer, a member of world famous E.S.T.
The album will be released on the label Neuklang 24th of November, 2023
The first single is released on September 20th, 2023.
“WAVES” project was recorded as a symbol of the fact that the war machine can never kill art.
“WAVES” - fresh and original music that will not leave you indifferent.
