Chef Sanjay Kak is the Director of Culinary Arts at the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), a premier hospitality education group with campuses across India and Thailand, as well as the Indismart Hotels. A distinguished culinary professional with over 30 years of experience, Chef Kak has held leadership roles at the Taj Group of Hotels, Taj SATS Air Catering, and Specialty Restaurants Limited.

An alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management, New Delhi, he began his career in 1990 as a Hotel Operations Management Trainee with the Taj. Over the years, he rose through the ranks to become an Executive Chef at the age of thirty. He has led kitchens at multiple Taj properties, trained at iconic restaurants like Orient Express, Golden Dragon, and Machaan, and served as a certified Chef Trainer, mentoring numerous professionals who now lead in the global hospitality industry.

Chef Kak has developed menus for international airlines including United Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, and Air India, and has cooked for heads of state and royalty. He pioneered the implementation of HACCP and food safety systems in India’s hospitality sector and led large-scale flight kitchen operations at Taj SATS Mumbai, producing 22,000 meals daily.

In his role at IIHM, Chef Kak oversees culinary education across all campuses, ensuring academic excellence with a strong foundation in practical skill. He is also the Chief Culinary Support and Lead Judge on the technical committee of the prestigious Young Chef Olympiad, an international culinary competition hosted annually in India.

Chef Kak continues to champion innovation in cuisine, sustainability, and the use of local produce, while staying rooted in classical culinary traditions.
