In the Wake of the Storm (American Red Cross, c. 1928, silent)

“A tropical hurricane, sweeping out of the Caribbean in September 1928, cut a path of death and destruction for more than a thousand miles. Porto Rico and parts of Florida lay devastated with more than a half million persons homeless and destitute.”

The film shows the American Red Cross response to the hurricane, including providing clothing, food, shelter, medical treatment, and disease prevention measures to affected people in Puerto Rico and Florida.
