Forget weaving with yarn, now you can weave with glass!
In this video I show you how to create the effect of woven glass through a technique involving stainless steel tubing and two kiln firings.
The kiln schedules are as follows:
Schedule 1
Ramp 1: 250 degrees, Temp 1: 1000 degrees, Hold 1: 0 min
Ramp 2: 9999, Temp 2: 1365, Hold 2: 8
Ramp 3: 9999, Temp 3: 950, Hold 3: 60
Ramp 4: 200, Temp 4: 800, Hold 4: 0
Ramp 5: 300, Temp 5: 200, Hold 5: 0
Schedule 2
Ramp 1: 250 degrees, Temp 1: 1000 degrees, Hold 1: 0 min
Ramp 2: 9999, Temp 2: 1390, Hold 2: 6
Ramp 3: 9999, Temp 3: 950, Hold 3: 60
Ramp 4: 250, Temp 4: 800, Hold 4: 0
Ramp 5: 300, Temp 5: 100, Hold 5: 0
In the video I also mentioned using Boron Nitride Aerosol instead of kiln wash - copy this link to watch a previous tutorial I made on using Boron:
