Barry "The Maestro" White most likely had the biggest cross-sectional popularity and following of any musician in the music business. He was a composer and singer-songwriter who had won two Grammy awards. White exhibited early aptitude for music and potential for success, which he eventually achieved. He got his start in Los Angeles as a key member of numerous small indie bands and labels. He was noticed while working with the groups and disguised to assume the roles of lyricist, session musician, and arranger for reputable labels.
