US President Donald Trump claims he’s optimistic about a trade deal with the European Union after meeting Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the Oval Office this morning.
Ms Meloni says she hopes to “make the West great again” after the EU was slugged with tariffs on steel, aluminium and cars.
The Italian Prime Minister’s visit is a crucial first step for the European Union.
