BWR California 2025 - Quadruple Crown Ep. 2

Here we are with round 2 of the 2025 Belgian Waffle Ride Quadruple Crown! Things were lining up well for this one. My fitness was on point, the course changes better suited me, and weather was set to be cool. However, I would suffer a mechanical just into the first dirt section and lose 8 minutes, essentially ending any shot at being back at the front of the race. I would go on to continue riding as hard as I could, producing some of THE BEST power numbers I've ever done for a race of this duration, and roll into the finish for 20th place.

After having a rough start to the year in Arizona with a 24th place, this one really hurt. The overall series podium was a big goal of mine, and chasing that is now over with two poor results. As gut wrenching as race day was, I will still take time to acknowledge some wins:

Fitness is there by the power numbers.
Nailed the lead up
I nailed my nutrition with no gut issues.
I've reworked my front derailleur's so this issue is far less likely to happen again.
learned how to fix this faster if it does happen again.

Things to NOT DO AGAIN:
using untested tires/ equipment set up in a race.
