Vlog 9: European Visits American Hardware Store for the First Time

In this vlog, I take my Slovenian/European girlfriend to Home Depot in America for the very first time! 🛠️🇺🇸 Coming from Europe, she’s used to much smaller hardware stores, so stepping into a massive American warehouse-style store was a whole new experience.

From the giant aisles filled with every tool imaginable, to the endless options for paint, appliances, and gardening supplies, everything felt oversized compared to what she’s used to back home in Slovenia. She was especially surprised by:

The sheer size of the store (you could seriously get lost in there).

How you can find absolutely everything under one roof—from lumber and grills to cleaning supplies and plants.

The DIY culture in the U.S., where people take on huge home projects themselves rather than calling specialists.

The variety of seasonal decorations (something you don’t really see in Slovenia in the same way).

The fact that shopping here felt more like an adventure than just an errand.

For me, it was fun seeing something I grew up with through her European perspective. For her, it was like exploring a theme park for homeowners. 🏡
