Time to Reset the House

Today we're doing something a little different. We're seeing how long it takes to reset some of the spaces in our home after a long month and the family getting over being sick.
Not the regular stuff we film, but it was kind of helpful for myself to film it to stay motivated. (Even though I fully intended at the time NOT to post this 😅).
The method I try to use when cleaning or decluttering (which I probably didn't do a great job of explaining 😅), is from Dana K. White's '5 Step No Mess Decluttering Method'. You should check out her youtube channel or books for better, more practical demonstrations and explanations. ⚠️(Not trying to get views or clicks from using her method, but I definitely believe in giving credit where credit is due, and sharing helpful strategies that have worked).
But here's a short breakdown:
Dana K. White’s five-step, no-mess method is basically decluttering on “easy mode” so you never explode a room to clean it. You always work one item at a time, and the space looks better even if you get interrupted.
Step 1 – Trash: Do a quick sweep for obvious garbage and recyclables so the room looks instantly lighter with zero emotional effort.
Step 2 – The easy stuff: Grab anything you instantly know has a home elsewhere and go put it away right now, no sorting piles.
Step 3 – “Duh” clutter: Pull out the stuff that makes you think, “Well, duh, why is this even here?” and donate or remove it.
Step 4 – Two questions: For what’s left, ask: “If I needed this, where would I look for it first?” and “If I found it there, would it make sense?” If you can’t answer, it probably goes.
Step 5 – Container concept: Treat shelves, bins, and drawers as containers with a hard limit; the best, most-used items get space, and anything that doesn’t fit is your automatic “let it go” list.
In practice, this lets you chip away at clutter without dumping everything out, so every time you clean, the room is left a little more usable and never more chaotic than when you started.
Not making piles is something I definitely need help with 😄
