U.S. President Donald Trump called Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey “a fool” over his support for the country’s largest Somali community.
During a meeting with automotive industry leaders on Wednesday (December 3), Trump also said U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar “shouldn't be allowed to be a congresswoman,” adding that “she should be thrown the hell out of our country.”
In comments made during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday (December 2), Trump described Somalis as "garbage" and said "we don't want them in our country," remarks that Somalis said insulted both their people and their homeland.
