Morphing Mechanism was the name of the first few live sets I ever recorded and released, way back in my MC-505 days when I was just getting into writing music. I always loved the name for my albums, it described perfectly this device that could let me mold and sculpt sounds so easily. For years I wanted to revisit the name. But it wasn’t until the MC-707 (the long awaited successor to Roland’s Groovebox line) arrived that I felt I had achieved something evocative of that workflow many years ago.
The actual audio recording was only normalized. No additional processing has been done to what you’re hearing, it’s straight from the MC-707’s audio outs.
