It has been awhile since I did an Episode of the sounds of snares. Unfortunately, my helper Harper has become to cool to do videos with dad currently so I had to do this one all on my own. But don't worry, I know she'll come back soon! To kick off 2025, here is my newest snare drum!

This is the DW Collectors series 13x8 snare drum in a beautiful Smoke Glass Contrails finish with gold hardware accent. This collectors series snare comes in 100% maple VLT configuration which features 12-plies of select maple that’s cross laminated to deliver attack, resonance and full bodied mid frequencies.

Standard features on this snare are DWs stick saving 3.0mm Triple Flanged True Hoops that fatten up the snare’s voice with resonance and flexibility, reliably fastened down by an outfit of iconic turret lugs and their accompanying true-pitch 50 tension rods.

The legendary MAG throw off is as easy to engage as you could ask for, while its companion 5-position butt plate gives players the freedom to match the intensity of the snare system to the song at hand. DWs True Tone 20 strand snare wires elevate the standard with premium balance and material to optimize the perfect snare sound. Inside DW has placed reinforcement or re-rings to the snare. The 13x8 snare is a wonderful combination of size as you get the snap crackle and pop from the 13" width yet the solid punch from the 8" inch depth.
