On today's episode I replace the transmission on my little Hatchback. I pretty much take a gamble on whether or not this unknown transmission will work better than my stock one. They are both D-Series so I didn't think it would be too difficult to get a 6th Gen transmission to work on my 5th Gen Civic but it was pretty much a direct bolt on.
The only 2 DIFFERENCES are the speed sensor "Looks" different but the plugs are the same. (I couldn't swap them because the mounting bolts were ALSO different.) So I just kept the speed sensors in their place and hopefully there's no problem later on. The second issue is with the FRONT Motor Mount being fastened differently. I had to go to the junkyard to get an extra nut since the 6th gen uses 2 nuts to fasten to the motor mount while my 5th gen used 1 nut and 1 bolt. No big deal especially since the motor mount could still be re-used.
