We Got Fined by French Customs! - Daily French Vlog

In this week's vlog, we're diving into the less glamorous side of moving to France — car imports and customs paperwork!

We walk you through everything we’ve learned about importing UK vehicles into France, including the mandatory customs form you’ll need if you’re moving with personal belongings and want to avoid being taxed.

With the warmer weather finally here, we really wanted to use the pool but with hot weather comes algae so it was time to get the pool chemicals out and start getting the water back to crystal again!

On Thursday, Millie and I enjoyed a gorgeous morning at the Monpazier market — one of our favourite spots for fresh produce and good food. If you live locally, you MUST visit!

Later, we phoned the tax office to declare our house as our main residence to avoid paying taxe d'habitation (yes, that’s still a thing if you’re not careful!)... and then it’s off to Agen, where we reluctantly hand over €300 in customs fines. Ouch.

But the day ended with an absolutely epic lightning storm — one of the most dramatic we’ve ever seen 🌩️
