VIRTUAL MEET THE TEACHER! | Distance Learning Resource

In today’s video, I’m sharing how I’m preparing for a virtual meet the teacher using Google Slides. I’m going through how I’m making this Google Slideshow interactive, so my students can get to know me and my personality even if we’re unable to be in person for our meet the teacher night. FAQ:
Q: Can you share your original Powerpoint file?
A: Unfortunately, I can't. I purchased the digital background and if I shared it in an editable PPT, that would not be protecting the owner's intellectual property. I also used purchased fonts in the Powerpoint, so the formatting would not work correctly unless you purchased the same fonts. I hope the tutorial within this video can help you to make your own Powerpoint, though! 💛

Q: How did you make your "10 Favorite Things" video?
A: I edit all of my videos using Final Cut Pro X. This is a pretty expensive editing software, though, and I would not recommend buying it just for personal use. You can likely accomplish something similar using cheap/free editing software. I used one "main" clip from my Canon G7x then layered videos I had taken on my iPhone (which are inherently more tall/narrow) on top, then moved the layered clip to the right side of the frame. If you're trying to do something similar in a different editing software, I would try searching "how to split screen using ____ (editing software)" or "how to overlay clips using _____ (editing software)" on YouTube.

Q: How do I edit the font/headers?
A: Unfortunately the font/headers are not editable. You can use the tutorial in this video to create your own, though!

Q: Will you please create a slide and/or entire slideshow for me?
A: Unfortunately, I can't. My time is precious and I'm currently working on preparing for going back to school. Please feel free to use the tutorial within this video to make your own, or use the free template provided.
