Der Teufel in der Spreeaue - Wanderung vom 2. April

Bis zum Jahr 2012 renaturierte Vattenfall die Cottbuser Spree zwischen Döbbrick und Schmogrow. Das Gebiet liegt östlich vom bekannten Spreewaldort Burg.
Acht neue Teiche (von denen bei unserem Besuch leider nur zwei mit Wasser gefüllt waren) Weideflächen auf denen Auerochsen und Wasserbüffel (die haben wir leider nicht gesehen) grasen sowie auentypische Flusslandschaft fügen sich natürlich in die Landschaft ein und bieten Lebensräume für mehr als 50 Tierarten und eine Vielzahl von Pflanzengesellschaften.

Auf einem künstlich angelegten kleinen Hügel steht eine Holzfigur, die den Teufel und seine schwarzen Ochsen darstellt, die mit ihrem Pflug den Spreewald geschaffen haben sollen.


By 2012, Vattenfall had renaturalised the Cottbus Spree between Döbbrick and Schmogrow. The area lies east of the well-known Spreewald village of Burg. Eight new ponds (of which unfortunately only two were filled with water when we visited), pastures where aurochs and water buffaloes graze (unfortunately we did not see them) as well as floodplain typical river landscape fit naturally into the landscape and offer habitats for more than 50 animal species and a variety of plant communities.
On an artificially created small hill stands a wooden figure representing the devil and his black oxen, who are said to have created the Spreewald with their plough.
