27th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Reading 1: Habakkuk 1:2-3; 2:2-4
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 94:1-2, 6-9
Reading 2: 2 Timothy 1:6-8, 13-14
Gospel: Luke 17:5-10
Our Faith
Today the Church celebrates the Twenty-seven Sunday in Ordinary Time and our faith which gives us a new vision of the world. It is faith which liberates us and makes us see the Spirit of power and love at work in our lives.
St Paul encourages Timothy to stand firm in the face of challenges and difficulties, to hold fast to the gift of faith that God has given him through Paul’s laying hands on him. Paul is asking us to take seriously the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in our hearts, to keep our faith alive and active.
Jesus reveals His radical love for humanity and that death is not the final word. His love is a powerful light the penetrates the thickest darkness to reach our brothers and sisters who seem to be completely lost. This is not only an event of the past, but applies to each of us today. Christ enters our own struggles and touches our deepest sins with His mercy.
