Most people think they need more motivation to quit an addiction.
They wait to feel ready. They wait to feel strong. They wait for the right mood or the right moment.
In this video, I explain why motivation doesn’t work as a long-term strategy for quitting addiction. Motivation is state-dependent. It rises and falls with how you feel, and addiction exploits exactly those fluctuations.
This is Part 1.
In Part 2, I’ll talk about what actually works instead of motivation.
