Recorded in 1929
Paintings by Frits Thaulow (1847-1906).
In the autograph Ravel wrote an epigraph of Henri de Régnier above the music:
"Dieu fluvial riant de l'eau qui le chatouille" ("The river god laughing at the water as it tickles him".)
Moiseiwitsch does it justice by playing it like a sparkling divertimento.
