Vocal Coach Reacts: ANDREA BOCELLI & JANNIK SINNER? "Polvere e Gloria" (Dust and Glory)

You may not be aware that tennis is one of my biggest passions! It stands to reason then that this announcement really got my attention... Jannik Sinner, world no. 1 male tennis player from Italy, in a 'duet' with the world famous Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli??

Okay, so it's not a duet, really, because that requires two vocalists to actually both sing. Although it should be said that a rapper and singer joining forces, also classifies as a duet. But, yeah, Sinner didn't rap, either 😅

Nonetheless, this is a partnership between two Italian icons: one of many decades, and one a rising star. Musically I enjoyed Bocelli's singing, although this song is very similar in style to much of his past work. This isn't a negative, as Andrea knows what his strengths are by now, and how to produce something that suits him, his voice, and his audience.

What I do find beautiful, are the images of them both growing up, totally separate lives and journeys, yet with one important thing in common: a life-long journey of extreme and very admirable hard work that culminated in stunning success.

I also loved to see the 'behind-the-scenes' type shots that showed these two men engaging in casual conversation... the humanity of it came through clearly. Bocelli has been known for making very smart choices in his career, partnering with a wide variety of different artists and other well known people, always creating interest and new ways to entertain his audience.

With all that said, I thought it was a beautiful moment in time. What did YOU think?
