Welcome to dastaan — a story of coexistence, resilience, and return.

More than a home, more than a piece of land, Dastaan is a living tale of how man and nature can thrive side by side.

Envisioned by Muhammad Hassan Miraj and Dr Amarah Kiani, dastaan lies a few kilometres off the Balkasar Interchange — an off-grid sanctuary born out of a longing to live slower, live deeper, and live sustainably.

This short film by Sukhan explores how a simple dream grew into a movement — one that values process over product, restoration over exploitation, and connection over consumption. From the first seeds planted in difficult, saline soil to the growing biodiversity that now surrounds it, Dastan invites us to reimagine what it means to belong to the earth.

At its heart, this is not just a story about land.

It’s a meditation on balance, a reflection on how far we’ve drifted from nature — and how we can still find our way back.
