Project Yamaha R15 V3 Gets Full System Racing Exhaust From WRX Exhaust Indonesia: It Shoots Flames

Finally, after waiting for more than a month and a half, my final package for my Yamaha R15 V3 build has arrived from Indonesia.

In it, the front fender from the international model - Yamaha R15 VVA - which is needed for the upside down forks. A small rubber piece that connects the new 34mm throttle body to the intake manifold. And finally, a full system stainless steel racing exhaust - GP6 RR - by WRX Exhausts.

This exhaust is built for motorcycles which are bored up - about 200 to 230cc and used for competition. Either track days or competition racing.

Some of you know my motorcycle is being heavily worked upon and is now a custom 183cc bike. So, the exhaust I was running earlier - a Daytona Short Taper GP exhaust - just wouldn't have been enough.

My Indonesian friend, Cakra Krishna (a former motorcycle racer in Jakarta. You can check out his Youtube channel here:    / cakrakhrisna  ) got in touch with WRX Exhausts about my project, and they gladly agreed to send me an exhaust keeping in mind the build I am going for.

I was not charged any money for the exhaust (Costs about Rs 13,500), and I only had to pay shipping and customs (which was over Rs 20,000), but that is a different story altogether.

Anyway, the exhaust was fairly simple to install and is bloody loud. You might not like the sound - I don't either - but understand that the sole purpose for this exhaust to exist is to gain the maximum power it can from the engine. This is a competition exhaust and how it sounds is just not important.

The motorcycle, as you would have seen in the video, is having issues in the low revs. That's because the engine components have been updated, but the map is still the old one (for the 155cc build).

The next step will be installing the new ECU (I got the Juken 5 pro version that lets me install an AFR module along with other goodies), AFR module, quick shifter, 34 mm throttle body and the velocity stack, load the new base map, and start tuning it for our Indian conditions.

This is a process that will take time.

So, please bear with me and wait for further updates. Trust me, nobody on this planet wants to see this bike run on the roads more than me.

So, constantly asking for R15 updates on other videos really will serve no purpose. I upfront any and all information on this build as soon as I can.
