The hourly off-peak service for both directions is seen passing over this level crossing on Albert Road close to Deal Railway Station. Both trains were Class 395 'Javelins', running Ramsgate services via Dover and the Kent Coast before and after 140mph runs along High Speed One from as far out as Ashford International. This level crossing is operated from the unusually-shaped signal box next to it, which also has control over some of the last remaining mainline semaphore signals in Kent. There are three alarms here, although one can be heard sounding with a faulty, fast-to-flat tone, and one wigwag behind an old sign to a business premises still remains in-situ despite that access road now long being out of use since the nearby housing development shot up. It was almost completely blocked from the front by a parked van at the time of my visit.
