A SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched the Sentinel-6B satellite from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, on 17 November 2025, at 05:21 UTC (16 November, at 21:21 PST). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage (B1097) landed on Landing Zone 4 (LZ-4) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, having previously supported two Starlink missions. Part of European Union’s Copernicus Earth observation programme, Sentinel-6B will map the height of the sea surface to understand long-term change, as well as gather data used for near-real time ocean forecasting.
