Описание:
Most residential sidewalks are 3–4 feet wide and at least 4 inches thick.
Drainage: To prevent water pooling or foundation damage, slope the sidewalk away from buildings at approximately 1/4 inch per foot.
2. Base Construction (The Frost Barrier)
A solid base is critical in Canada to prevent "heaving" during winter.
Excavation: Dig 6 to 8 inches deep to leave room for both the gravel base and the concrete.
Compacted Gravel: Add 2 to 4 inches of crushed stone or gravel (e.g., 3/4" crushed)
