Invader Mini-Egg Surfboard Review

In this episode, I review a hard core foamie Invader Mini Egg which comes in a good package to play in small waves with good drive and deliver a lot of fun.

Board dimensions: 5'4 x 21.5" x 2.5" Volume: 38 Liters

The volume is spread out really nice all across the board and it paddles really fast.

1. Pretty flat deck and bottom
2. A little bit of low entry rocker
3. The board is pretty durable. It’s built to last long. I throw it into the sand many times and it still looks new. So, the quality is pretty good and much better compared to the big brands.

Invader Mini Egg comes with a little bit of a planing hull feel but If you are more into it, I’d suggest considering the Mini Simmons from Hydrodynamica. It’s got the best glide, flow and more importantly a full planning hull experience. However it would cost you 4 times more.

So, if you are on a budget or just want to shred and have fun on something similar to Mini Simmons but care less about look, glide and flow then this Mini Egg could be a good choice. Plus you are gonna have less stress about getting dings especially in the summer when it gets crowded out there.

The board is super responsive. Basically there is just a short delay between transitions and you surf it almost as a regular fiberglass board.

I would only recommend Invader Mini Egg to intermediate and above level surfers to really enjoy it.

The board comes with a stock quad fin set. However I ended up using Rob Machado Quad Fin Set and it worked well.
