Check out Podcast 2 of our Vietnamese language series for beginners! In this episode, we delve into the topic of greetings, specifically asking and telling someone's name. Join me, Phi, as we learn Vietnamese together and discover useful phrases and grammar points.

In the beginning, we listen to a conversation between two individuals, who meet each other for the first time. We analyze their conversation to understand how to ask and answer someone's name, as well as explore some key grammar and vocabulary.

We highlight the use of respectful language when a younger person addresses an older person in Vietnamese. Additionally, we introduce the question word "gì," meaning "what," and the predicate "là" which links subjects to pronouns or nouns.

Practice your skills with translation exercises, where you'll learn how to ask for someone's name politely and respond accordingly based on age and gender.
