The Prophet asks Allah for light in his heart. Imam/ Sayed Najjar

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ رَقَدَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاسْتَيْقَظَ فَتَسَوَّكَ وَتَوَضَّأَ فَأَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَخَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا وَفِي لِسَانِي نُورًا وَاجْعَلْ فِي سَمْعِي نُورًا وَاجْعَلْ فِي بَصَرِي نُورًا وَاجْعَلْ مِنْ خَلْفِي نُورًا وَمِنْ أَمَامِي نُورًا وَاجْعَلْ مِنْ فَوْقِي نُورًا وَمِنْ تَحْتِي نُورًا اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنِي نُورًا
6316 صحيح البخاري كتاب الدعوات باب الدعاء إذا انتبه بالليل
763 صحيح مسلم كتاب صلاة المسافرين وقصرها باب الدعاء في صلاة الليل وقيامه
Ibn Abbas reported: He spent the night with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. The Prophet woke up, cleansed his teeth, performed ablution, the call to prayer was announced, and he went out for the prayer while he was saying, “O Allah, place light in my heart and light on my tongue. Place light in my hearing and light in my seeing. Place light behind me and light in front of me. Place light above me and light below me. O Allah, grant me light!”
