Purulia is a district located in West Bengal. It is situated in the western part of West Bengal and shares its borders with the state of Jharkhand. Purulia is known for its natural beauty and is home to several hills, forests, and waterfalls. Some popular tourist destinations in the district include Ayodhya Hills, Joychandi Pahar, Matha Forest, and Baghmundi. The district is also famous for its rich tribal culture and is home to several indigenous communities like the Santals, Mundas, and Ho.We bengalis calls it as "polasher Desh" , Polash is a flower which blooms during Spirng.
We had stayed in Polash Bari (A nature's Crib).Palash Bari(A Nature’s Crib) – a Resort on the base of Gojaburu Hill, one of the highest Peak of Ajodhya Hill. It can be a weekend tour near Kolkata as it is only 6hrs drive to reach Ajodhya Hill from Kolkata by road or by Train. Nearest Railway Station is Purulia Junction (PRR) or Tamna(TAO).Nearest Airport to Ajodhya Hill Purulia is either Durgapur (RDP) or Ranchi (IXR). PolashBari is having own Pickup and Drop facility from nearest Railway Station or Airport as well as arrange all types of vehicles for sightseeing of Ajodhya Hill.
