Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 14 January 2026. We begin today's video with flooded bridge and streets in Hoedspruit in the Limpopo Province of South Africa today. Heavy rain and rising rivers flood low-lying bridges in Phalaborwa and Tzaneen. The heavy rain damaged the road between Sabie and Hazyview. Rising Crocodile River near Komatipoort and more rain forecast. Heavy rain and flooding are forecast for other parts of Kruger Park today also and some of the camps evacuated. The low bridges are expected to flood; no crossing is permitted. Heavy rain along the route to Malelane, with flooding of the Letaba River reported. It's a busy day on the beach at Rooi-Els yesterday. We drive through Keimoes and over the Orange River at Upington. Big rain storm along the N4 near Middelburg today, and we show you more from across SA Today.

The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows:
Residents across the north-eastern Lowveld region of South Africa should prepare for another round of heavy rain today as tropical moisture keeps feeding showers into an area that’s already waterlogged, bringing serious flood risks where rivers are running high and mudslides could threaten communities, livestock, and infrastructure. Central Limpopo Province and parts of the eastern Mpumalanga Province will also see damaging rainfall with floods likely in both formal and informal settlements, while lighter but still troublesome showers will cause localized flooding and road closures across central Mpumalanga, western Limpopo, and northern KwaZulu-Natal Province. Meanwhile, the Northern Cape Province and several Western Cape Province face extreme fire danger due to hot, dry conditions that could turn any spark into a runaway blaze.
