Yamaha 704 Binnacle Mount Throttle Arm Upgrade - Fix sticking/sticky throttle control

This video walks through:

Potential cause for sticking throttle control (I confirmed my throttle cables were not the issue, but had originally thought that was the problem)
Replacement of the internal throttle arm to a newly designed/superseded part number

Note: I did use the term “throttle arm” interchangeably to describe both the handle used to control the throttle and the part number posted above. My apologies for an confusion.

Update 8/2/2023: Jeff Pettey mentioned in the comments not to lube the main bushing on the throttle arm. The friction of the nylon bushing against the metal tensioning band is light enough to allow you to actuate the throttle and provides enough friction to keep the throttle in place. I did some research on a couple forums and found yamaha techs validating this, so thank you Jeff for pointing that out. Sharing this update so others are aware.

Safety note: Since this video is related to the throttle assembly of your boat, please remember to wear your kill switch at all times when operating your vessel. This fix may help smooth out your throttle or keep the throttle in a certain position and therefore a cut off switch is the only thing to stop your boat if you are ejected. Cut off switches saves lives and it is federal law (as of 2021).
