I implemented a marlin style mechanical gantry alignment in Klipper. This is a variant of G34 which usually requires a bed probe and dual stepper drivers. I'm using an SKR mini E3 2.0 board that only has one Z driver for both motors.
The driver current here is very low and not enough to do damage to the printer. I note that the official prusa technique for older Prusas to level the gantry was to just ram it against the z-max stops at full current. I don't recommend doing that regularly.
You must have a stepper drivers set up so you can control the driver current in software, so TMC 2208 or 2209 drivers with UART control, this won't work on stock Creality boards with standalone steppers.
