Reagan's Defence Chief Pays Tribute to Margaret Thatcher | Caspar Weinberger Interview (1989)

On 28 April 1989, former US Secretary of Defence Caspar Weinberger spoke to ITN ahead of the 10th anniversary of Margaret Thatcher's election. Two years after his own resignation from the Reagan administration, Weinberger paid tribute to Thatcher's drive and vision as a leader of what he called the 'Thatcher-Reagan Revolution'. He recalled the relationship between the Reagan administration and the Thatcher government during the Falklands War, and the strain placed on Anglo-American relations by the 1983 US intervention in Grenada.
