《👶🏻👧🏻不滿政府拖延《子女法律程序(父母責任)條例草案》立法〉

3月19日，我在立法會會議中口頭質詢特區政府，要求官員解釋自去年6月立法會福利事務委員會大部分委員同意盡快重啟《子女法律程序(父母責任)條例草案》立法程序後，經過9個月時間仍未展開立法程序的原因。

我對特區政府的回應非常失望。在過去多年，我一直追問政府何時立法，但政府屢次藉詞推搪，以「唧牙膏」的方式回應社會需求。香港社會已等候有關條例草案二十多年，足足一代人受到影響，政府不宜再拖，《子女法律程序(父母責任)條例草案》須立即提交立法會審議，以完善對兒童權益的保障。

《👶🏻👧🏻Dissatisfaction with the Government's Delay in Legislating the Children Proceedings (Parental Responsibility) Bill》

On 19 March, I raised an oral question to the SAR Government, requesting officials to explain why the legislative process for the Children Proceedings (Parental Responsibility) Bill has not yet commenced after a lapse of nine months, even though the majority of members of the LegCo Panel on Welfare Services agreed in June last year to relaunch the process as soon as possible.

I expressed my disappointment with the Government’s response. Over the past years, I have repeatedly pressed the SAR Government on when the Bill would be introduced, but the Administration continues to shirk responsibility with excuses and respond to social demand in a “toothpaste squeezing” manner. I pointed out that Hong Kong society has been waiting for this Bill for over 20 years, with an entire generation affected. The SAR Government must not delay any further, and the Children Proceedings (Parental Responsibility) Bill must be submitted to the Legislative Council for review immediately, so as to improve the protection of children’s rights.
