PACE Mission: Visualizing Ocean Microbes

Carina transforms complex ocean data into stunning scientific visualizations that reveal the hidden world of phytoplankton—tiny microorganisms that play a huge role in fueling ecosystems, influencing Earth's atmosphere, and protecting Earth’s oceans.

SSAI supports NASA’s Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem (PACE) mission, which studies ocean color and the atmosphere to better monitor changes in Earth's atmosphere, marine ecosystems, and threats like harmful algal blooms. Through tools like the PACE Help Hub, we make satellite data readily available for scientists, educators, and the public.
