A Gift From Dad, 30 Years in the Making (And another Project)

Back in the 1990's and early 2000's, my Dad and I were involved in American Civil War Living History and re-enacting. When he passed in 2020, I inherited a full scale 12 pound mountain howitzer that we both constructed (That's another subject for another video), but I also received a unfired .54 caliber Pedersoli Sharps Carbine that was a part of his field artillery persona. When YouTube's algorithms started recommending videos on making black powder paper cartridges, it got me to thinking about my father's gun. Digging through some of the other items he'd left me, I found all of the components he'd bought for the Sharps, but never got around to shooting it. This is now on my "to do" list of projects. I'd like to honor a great man, my Dad in doing this up right.
