Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840–1893) – Barcarolle (“June”), from The Seasons, Op. 37 No. 6
Composed in 1876, this Barcarolle from Tchaikovsky’s cycle “The Seasons” reveals the composer’s most intimate lyrical voice. Written during one of his most creative and emotionally turbulent periods, the piece combines romantic melancholy, Russian lyricism, and a sense of longing that defines Tchaikovsky’s genius.
