My muscadine grape vineyard is entering into its sixth year of growth. I'll show you how to correct some errors in pruning that I made in previous years. My desire is that these vines will remain compact, bearing fruit near the lateral vines along the wire. I do not want the fruit hanging down toward the ground and the annual growth to get so heavy that it sags to the ground. I'll show you how I handle a corrective cleanup of these mature fruiting vines so that the annual harvest will continue to be bountiful. This is a proven successful method for muscadine grape culture.
