The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall (1996) - Unity (2022) Playthrough Part 34

In Part 34, my time in Wayrest becomes a whirlwind of political intrigue, assassination plots, and a sudden, accidental run-in with the law! I navigate the dangerous streets and guild halls of the city while balancing my duties to the royal family and the Mages Guild.

The session starts with a mysterious sighting of a ghostly girl who vanishes as quickly as she appeared. Seeking work, I take a delivery quest from King Eadwyre, which quickly spirals into a smuggling job. This draws the ire of the Thieves Guild, who send assassins after me inside a temple! Despite the ambush and some confusion with similar NPC names, I complete the delivery.

King Eadwyre then tasks me with hunting down the infamous "Wayrest Ripper." After a bit of a search through the wrong building sections, I meet a particularly helpful NPC named Rodane Buckinghouse, who marks the Ripper's hideout on my map. I dispatch the killer quickly and move on to a task for Princess Morgiah. This quest proves nearly fatal when I am poisoned, causing my fatigue to drain until I pass out! I manage to recover, fight off the attackers, and secure the item for the Princess.

Later, I focus on the Mages Guild to raise my rank. Things get messy when I accidentally pickpocket a guard, lose my case in court, and find myself locked out of a quest chest! However, the night brings a Full Moon, and I put my Werewolf form to good use, clawing through Thieves Guild members during a "Guard the Guild" contract. Between training my Restoration skill and accidentally siding with an ex-student, my reputation continues to grow as I identify my latest haul of loot.
