The Hateful Eight in 70MM - Sun Theatre, Melbourne

Here is a behind-the-scenes video documenting an inside look into the Sun Theatre's projection booth located in Yarraville, Melbourne, running a test run for an upcoming complimentary screening of Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight in 70mm Ultra Panavision. This was the first screening to kick off the Sun Theatre's year-long TODD-AO Film Festival, where they're showing both new and classic 70mm titles each month.

This 70mm print is easily one of the best-looking 70mm prints ever struck. The color timing is perfect and no shot is done incorrectly.

This print at the Sun Theatre is print #100 and runs through an infamous Vic 8 projector with a special lens configuration that correctly adapts to the Sun Theatre's Barkly screen size and throw-distance.

The Hateful Eight is delivered on 10 reels. The print is played in sync with a DTS timecode printed on the side of the film, which is read by the DTS Reader.
