1200sqft Kit Home built with Pre-Assembled Steel Framing

This is a video tour of a 1,200sqft 2 bed, 2 bath kit home in Austin, Texas. All of the framing in this home was computer designed, machine-manufactured within 1mm of accuracy, and pre-assembled in our Volstrukt facility. We shipped the pre-assembled wall sections and roof trusses to the job site for a swift and accurate build process.

This model is called the Z-House.

This particular home was framed using 20ga and 18ga galvanized steel with a 3.5" stud profile. The exterior was finished using black standing seam metal, and the interior wall finish is drywall. There is 1/2" exterior rigid foam insulation on the exterior of the metal studs in addition to close-cell spray foam in the wall and roof cavities.
