This longitudinal study explores the experiences of international PGCE trainees and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) in England, examining barriers to enrolment, employment, and retention. Despite financial incentives, many trainees face challenges securing teaching positions due to visa sponsorship limitations. The research follows four cohorts over three years, investigating systemic racism, curriculum inclusivity, and the broader teacher recruitment pipeline, with the aim of informing evidence-based policies for a more inclusive and sustainable teacher workforce.
