Drum Workshop (DW) 14 x 5 Maple / Brass Edge Snare Drum Audio Demo by Drumazon Feat. Rocky Morris

Hey Everyone, on this video we have a stunning DW Edge snare in a lovely colour combo! The patented DW Edge offers a completely unique design and sound with a flawless finish. This one is a mixture of brass with a 10-ply maple center. Rocky really enjoyed working with this snare, he commented about the incredible snare sensitivity and articulation it could deliver on the ghost notes.

Our demonstration starts with the snare placed in a musical context, then we show you some isolated drum mixes with the snare recorded at high, middle and low tuning registers. In some lower tunings we are using a Noble & Cooley Drum Taco to control some overtones, this damping method is standard in Live and Studio environments, we feel this is a fair way to properly show the drum for the application.

Like with all our audio demos there is no limiting to enhance the dynamic response, no digital reverbs are used, the ambience is naturally captured with room mics. We recommend listening through headphones or speakers for the best detail.

The music used on this video is not a backing track. Rocky put the drums down first and the music was created and recorded afterwards, much like in a studio session to help demonstrate a more authentic feel.
