'Khanabadosh' the third chapter and the memoir that takes the book title is about Ajeet's struggle to have/make a home while leading a nomad life as an ordinary Punjabi girl who grew up to be an extraordinary writer.
Ajeet Cour’s autobiography ‘Khanabadosh’ (The Vagabond) won Sahitya Akademi award in 1985. “Free from all reformative or revolutionary pretence, she [Ajeet Cour] set out on the humanistic odyssey of understanding the human experience without talking into the ethical fallacy of judging others.” (Attar Singh). As a memoir, ‘Khanabadosh’ is a reflection of Ajeet Cour as a mother, lover, beloved, business-woman/publisher, author and much more.
