This is a fabulous piece, in a transcription by Jean Guillou. The fugue was originally written for four-hand piano. Mozart later transcribed it for string quintet, adding the adagio. The fugue (starts 3.05') gets increasingly frenetic/furious as it goes, gradually presenting the subject in every conceivable stretto, rectus and inversus, and working up to an outrageous final outburst.

The adagio is played on full Hoofdwerk (based on 16' principal, ten rank mixture and Trompets 16', 8' and 4') alternating with Bovenwerk Baarpijp 8' and Rugwerk Principal 8'. The fugue alternates various plenums: Hoofdwerk + Bovenwerk 16'; Hoofdwerk + Rugwerk; Bovenwerk 8' v Rugwerk 8'; building to all three 16' plenums coupled.
